There are a few blogs that I’ve been reading for the past two-ish years that I just happened to stumble upon one day. I’ve never commented on them, but have always thoroughly enjoyed their content. Over the last couple of months I’ve read about the beginnings of a relationship on 2 of them. One actually got married last weekend and today, the other just posted a link to a website detailing how they met and fell in love. I STARTED CRYING. Ridiculous.

Isn’t it amazing to think how connected you (I) can become with someone you’ve never even met? I’ve been a part of their daily lives for over 2 years and they don’t even know it. Well, maybe they know my IP addy if they have a site visitor… Still…crazy.

In case you’re wondering…I’ll be sure to write every nauseating detail of any future relationships I have so I can bless my blog readers the same way I have been blessed by other bloggers. 😉

I feel like I’m becoming a recluse lately. Perhaps recluse is a strong word.

I’ve become more and more selfish with my time. All I want to do is come home, work out, scrap book, watch some tv, and go to bed. I find that I have to really push myself to hang out with others. Even on the weekends I just want to do whatever the heck I want. Good gravy, I’m not fit to be a significant other. Who knows. Whatever. A little me time is good, right? And, what’s so wrong with not wanting to be around other people?

Perhaps recluse is the right word.

The race is on

I just signed up for my April race. This is the 5 mile run. I’ve never ran five miles before so it may be a little difficult. I actually hit a cool milestone this past week when I had my first 4 mile jog. It felt amazing. I mean, not the run itself but the satisfaction I got from actually being done with it. I’ve decided from now on I will up the ante and run at least 4 miles on all of my jogs from now on. I did it on Saturday and today I’m supposed to do it again. I noticed with the longer distances my lower back starts to hurt because my shoes suck. So, new shoes are high on my list of priorities and hopefully I will be able to acquire a nice pair sometime this week or next.

Last weekend was the St. Patty’s Day Dash and note to self, never doing that race again. It was cool to be a part of because it’s one of the more fun races, but you also can not easily pace yourself because with 15,100 other people running the race with you, it gets a little crowded.

One last note. I was reading the course description for the April race and I have a strong feeling I’m going to get disoriented and lost. If you don’t hear from me ever again, it’s probably because I’m up in the northern woods of Burlington trying to find my way to the finish line. Here’s their blurb about it:

It’s true. We’s got some snow/sleet/hail all up in here today. None at my house, so I still made it to work, but apparently it sucked for others. We have had the weirdest winter here. I will be happy to see some spring time weather if it actually ever comes around. I’m starting to think Minnesota misses me so much it’s been slowly making its way out to Seattle over the past 6 years. Touching, isn’t it?

Last week I was completely stressing about money. I actually submitted my resume to Impress in hopes of working some evenings and weekends. I haven’t heard back from them, and I’m a little relieved. First of all, the manager seemed like a complete nightmare, and I don’t want that drama. Second of all, I love my free time of doing absolutely nothing too much to have anything interfere with that. Needless to say I haven’t been very proactive in finding a second job. I can afford everything just fine with one paycheck, it’s just that it’s going to take me longer than anticipated to get to where I want to be financially. Part of this is because at the beginning of the year I changed my 401k to deduct 12% of my paycheck rather than the 5% I was doing last year. Now THAT makes a dent in the ol’ paycheck. Yikes. Anyway, I might start playing the lottery or be a little more aggressive on finding a suga daddy who wants nothing more than biting wit and sarcasm in exchange for large sums of money.

ALSO. The wedding is now back to being in October once again. I’m a little bummed because I made the cutest revised invitation ever and now it’s scrapped. Parents, I tell ya! Double You Tee EFF?

As of two seconds ago, my new running challenge is 50 miles in 4 weeks. Yuck, I feel sick just thinking about it. Also, the final run stats are in for February and I’m quite pleased with the progress I made over January. Who cares if I only ran maybe 6 times the entire month of January. Progress is progress, people!

P.S. > March is National Craft Month. Do your part!
